Display Cabinet Cooling

Objective
Determine optimal display cabinet cooling methods using a combination of fans and mica insulation. The display cabinet is a sheet metal enclosure housing a PC with display showing the autonomous grill UI and PCBs for control systems.
Process
- Set up 6 test configurations with 8 thermocouples placed at critical locations
- Each test ran for 3 hours with temperature readings at 15-minute intervals
- Skills used:
- DatExel data collection
- Excel data analysis
Result
- Achieved a 60% temperature reduction at the hottest area in the display cabinet.
- Mica insulation serves as the second line of thermal defense, maintaining acceptable operating temperatures for the control systems when fan cooling is compromised.
