Box Elevator Lock
CAD Drawings

Final Design

Objective
- Develop a compact elevator lock system within a 50cm×20cm footprint between aluminum extrusions, utilizing a tensioned pulley-string release mechanism to safely support 50lb loads.
- Deliver a Grade 1 steel production unit within one month, validated through functional prototyping and load testing.
Process
Iterated through 3D-printed prototypes to optimize lock geometry, then transitioned to precision-machined steel components meeting ±0.13mm tolerances for reliable engagement.
Result
Final design achieved zero slippage during 20 consecutive 50lb load cycles, with all components operating within the constrained spatial envelope and release tension requirements.
